REFEREES
Referees and table will be supplied by the tournament organizers. The cost for this is included in the
entry fee. If you have a qualified Referee attending with your team please let the tournament
organizer know.
TALENTED PLAYERS
The organising committee will arrange for selectors from Tauranga Water Polo to be present daily to
select a Tournament Team. Nominations will also be called for from coaches. These players will
receive medals and certificates indicating that they have been selected as the top 13 players from
the tournament at the prize giving.
RULES
• FINA rules shall apply.
• From Game 43 onwards all games will end in a definite result. Any game tied after normal time is up
will restart after a 1.00 minute interval and will be won by the team scoring first (golden goal).
• All ROUND ROBIN games will be played in 4 x 5 minutes running time quarters.
• Semi finals and finals on Thursday will be 4 x 5 minute running time quarters.
• Players are not permitted in the empty lanes of the pool while another game is being played.
• All teams shall be mixed sex with a minimum of 3 girls playing at any one time (one can be goalie).
• All players shall be Year 7/8 players
• Team named first, on left of draw, will wear WHITE caps
• One player from each team will act as goal judge for the game immediately following their own
• No timeouts allowed.
ENTRY FEE
• Baywave entry passes will be supplied to all waterpolo players and team management (these will
be included in your manager’s pack).
• NZCT AIMS GAMES waterpolo spectators (adult/student) will be charged $1.00 per day. Spectators
will pay the $1.00 entry fee at Baywave reception, their hand will be stamped so they can come &
go as much as they like during that day.
MEDAL PRESENTATION
The top 3 placed teams will be presented with their medals and winners cup at the official AIMS
GAMES Closing Ceremony on Friday 10th September 1.00pm at the QEYC.
RISK MANAGEMENT
The organizers will manage risk during the event’s programmed activities. This does not include
transport to and from the venues, leisure activities or accommodation arrangements. Clear instruction
to coaches / team managers will be given about the extent of the organizers responsibilities at the
Sunday night managers meeting and in the “Terms and Conditions of Entry”.
