NZCT AIMS GAMES is an elite sporting event for Year 7 & 8 students held in the Tauranga/Mount Maungaui area. Play has been delayed on Tuesday 7 September due to rain until 12.00pm. Further enquiries please direct to Karen.

ELIGIBILTY
All schools that are financial members of NZAIMS are eligible to enter players.

Year 7 and 8 Division
• Girls Division (combined Year 7 & 8)
• Boys Division (combined Year 7 & 8)

COSTS
Schools are required to pay the entry fee of $30.00 per player
• Non refundable
• Must accompany school entry form
• Fees cover the cost of tournament expenses such as venue hire, medals, administration, certificates etc.

• Tournament is limited to a maximum of 32 players per gender.
• If registration for an activity is over subscribed then the opportunity to participate will be at the discretion of the executive committee and no further correspondence will be entered into (if unsuccessful team/individual entry will be refunded).. The four organizing schools have right of entry, plus four semi-finalists in the tournament of the previous year.

RULES
1) The tournament will run under New Zealand Tennis Rules.
2) All players must have a NZ Top Dog Grade.
3) This tournament will be conducted under the rules and regulations of Tennis NZ
4) The Tournament Manager reserves the right, in the event of wet weather, to shorten sets, the number of sets or the number of games in any event and alter playing times – there may be some games under lights to get through the programme.
5) Players can not be replaced once the draw has been set.

FORMAT
Singles Draw
• A compass draw will be used guaranteeing players between 3 to 5 matches
• All main draw Championship matches will be the best of 3 tie breaker sets
• All other matches will be 2 tie breaker sets and a Super Tie Breaker (1st to 10 points) if required in lieu of a 3rd set
Doubles / Combines Draw
• Partner must attend the same school
• Main draw competition and a plate draw
• All matches will be 2 tie breaker sets and a Super Tie Breaker (1st to 10 points) if required in lieu of a 3rd set

DRAW FOR FIRST ROUND

The draw will be handed out at the Managers Meeting on the Sunday night of the Opening Ceremony.

REFEREES
All players must be prepared to adjudicate matches as required. A Tournament Referee will be available.

TEAMS EVENT
Boys teams - Boys Division from singles placings (lowest two combined results will determine team placings for your school)
Girls teams - Girls Division from singles placings (lowest two combined results will determine team placings for your school)

 

MEDAL PRESENTATION

Singles and Doubles place getters will be presented with their medals at the venue. The Teams Event place getters will receive their medals and winning cup at the official AIMS GAMES Closing Ceremony on Friday 10th September 1.00pm at the QEYC.


RISK MANAGEMENT
The organisers will manage risk during the event’s programmed activities. This does not include transport to and from the venues, leisure activities or accommodation arrangements. Clear instruction to coaches / team managers will be given about the extent of the organizers responsibilities at the Sunday night managers meeting.

A letter of entry confirmation will be forwarded to your school by Friday 4th June 2010.
