UMPIRES
Each school must supply one umpire per team entered.
1. Umpires should hold a minimum Local Centre Practical qualification.
2. Secondary students who hold this qualification are to be encouraged to officiate (but must come with the approval of their Principal).
3. The organising committee will appoint umpires to matches - Umpires will not officiate their own team.
4. The organising committee shall have the right to arrange sponsorship pertaining to umpires and to decide the clothing to be worn on court, including details relating to the sponsor’s name/logo which may appear.
5. Participating teams are required to provide an experienced umpire, or should an umpire be required, then there is an additional cost of $450 for the week (indication of requiring a paid umpire is to be recorded and paid for on the initial registration form).
6. Any school which makes contact with the Tournament Director in relation to umpires after the deadline of 21st May to pay $150 a day.

TALENTED PLAYERS
The organising committee will arrange for selectors from Netball Bay of Plenty to be present daily to select a Tournament Team. These players will receive certificates indicating that they have been selected as the top 12 players from the tournament at the prize giving.

RULES
1) All games will be 4 x 10 minute quarters, a two minute break at the end of each quarter and a
three minute break at half time. All games shall start on the hour.
2) Umpires will be allocated to games.
3) Each court will be provided with the game ball – a Gilbert netball. This must be used for all games. Teams are to provide their own warm up balls.
4) Teams are to provide their own first aid kit, time keeper and scorer.
5) All games will be stopwatch timed courtside, but will start on the central bell. Team officials shall agree prior to start of the game who is responsible for timekeeping.
6) Official score shall be that recorded on the official scorecard - to avoid discrepancies the timekeeper & scorer will sit together (table provided courtside).
7) Points – 4 for a win, 2 for a draw, 1 for a loss by 5 goals or less. If teams are equal on points after round-robin play, placings will be decided by goal ratio.
8) In play offs, semi finals and final – if there is a draw at full time, play must continue until one team has a 2 goal advantage.
9) Injury time – Up to 2 minutes is allowed from when ‘time’ is called. The umpire is the sole official of the injury time taken.
10) Teams will be defaulted if they are not on court ready to play within 5 minutes of the scheduled start of play.

MEDAL PRESENTATION
The top 3 placed teams will be presented with their medals and winners cup at the official AIMS GAMES Closing Ceremony on Friday 10th September 1.00pm at the QEYC.

RISK MANAGEMENT
The organisers will manage risk during the event’s programmed activities. This does not include transport to and from the venues, leisure activities or accommodation arrangements. Clear instruction to coaches / team managers will be given about the extent of the organisers responsibilities at the Sunday night managers meeting.
