All schools that are financial members of NZAIMS are eligible to enter
students in the Year 7 and Year 8 Division.

RULES
All races are – Kayak / Bike / Run
- There is no limit to the number of entries from each school in each section.
- All Kayaks will be supplied – own kayaks not permitted.
- ANSI, SNELL or NZ STANDARD approved helmets only.
- Race briefing will be 15 minutes before each race.
- Wear clothing that is associated with your school. No bare torso allowed.
The road will be closed to traffic from 9.00am on race day
REFEREE
The organizers will appoint a referee to whom general complaints can be directed. Complaints must be lodged within 15minutes of the completion of the race.

KAYAK SECTION
The kayak section will take place on Lake McLaren and
will consist of multi laps of anti clockwise box course. Buoyancy vests
will be supplied and must be worn.
MOUNTAIN BIKE SECTION
The mountain
bike course has a challenging climb at the start, and a technical downhill
ride. It incorporates the surrounding farmland and equestrian paddocks
with a couple of exciting areas on the course that are suitable for beginners
and experienced riders.
RUN SECTION
The run utilizes the beauty of McLarens
Falls Park. It is an undulating run that goes out on the hills and some
road and back along the lake front path. The path along the lake front
is single track with a few steps that will allow participants to be able
to pass.

DISCIPLINE - ULTIMATE RELAY
School Relay
Event 5 |
Schools to select team consisting of - 1 kayaker / 1 mountain biker / 1 runner |
• Mixed teams of 3 (teams must consist of 1 girl)
• All participants
in the Ultimate Relay must have competed in the individual event.
• Year
7 and 8 combined.
• Schools may enter one team only in the Ultimate Relay.
• Cup
awarded to the winning school of the Ultimate Relay.
MEDAL PRESENTATION
Individual place geters will be presented with their medals at the venue after event 5. The Ultimate Relay top three place getters will recieve their medals and winning cup at the official AIMS GAMES closing ceremony on Friday 10th September 1.00pm at the QEYC.
RISK MANAGEMENT
All participants are reminded that they compete at their own risk and
absolve all marshals, helpers and volunteers from any blame or claim.
It is the individuals and schools responsibility to have their bikes
in a safe and working condition. This includes both front and rear brakes
to be working. Bikes will not be checked by the organizer. It is your
responsibility to keep on the course. The organizers will manage risk
during the event’s programmed activities. This does not include transport
to and from the venues, leisure activities or accommodation arrangements.
Clear instruction to coaches / team managers will be given about the
extent of the organizers responsibilities at the Sunday night managers
meeting.

A letter of entry confirmation will be forwarded to your
school by Friday 4th June 2010.
