ELIGIBILTY
All schools that are financial members of NZAIMS are eligible to enter teams.


All teams must be school based. Students competing must be enrolled fulltime in Year 7/8 in the school they are representing. Schools may only enter 1 team in each division. The best team made up of eligible players in that year group/gender division (there is no mixed gender division).

COSTS
Schools are required to pay the entry fee of $350.00 per team.
• Non refundable
• Must accompany school entry form
• Fees cover the cost of tournament expenses such as venue hire, medals, administration, certificates etc.

• Strictly a maximum of 24 teams in total (12 Boys teams / 12 Girls teams).
• If registration for an activity is over subscribed then the opportunity to participate will be at the discretion of the exective committee and no further correspondence will be entered onto(if unsuccessful team entry will be refunded). The four organizing schools have right of entry, plus four semi-finalists for each event in the tournament of the previous year.

UMPIRES
• Participating teams are required to provide an experienced umpire, or should an umpire be required, then there is an additional cost of $450 for the week (indication of requiring a paid umpire is to be recorded and paid for on the initial registration form).
• Any school which makes contact with the Tournament Director in relation to umpires after the deadline in June to pay $150 a day.
• The organizing committee will appoint umpires to games.
• Umpires will not officiate their own team.

SCOREBOARD
Scoreboard to be run for each game by duty team (duty team is the team who played the previous game).

PLACINGS / SEEDINGS
Final placings from the 2009 NZCT AIMS GAMES Tournament will determine seedings for this year.

FORMAT
• The NZCT AIMS GAMES National Hockey Tournament will be run as per NZ Hockey Association guidelines.
• Teams will play a round robin in four pools of six teams with finals to decide all placings.
• Girls and Boys Finals will be played at different times.

RULES
• Games will be 20 minute halves during pool play.
• Finals will be 25 minute halves.
• There will be five minute breaks between games for warm-ups and turf watering (as required).
• Teams will play on turf for round robin and finals.
• Teams must wear shirts with playing numbers on the back. Players will be registered with this number.
• Teams are responsible for their own first aid (including ice). An emergency vehicle will be stationed at the Blake Park complex covering the hockey, soccer, tennis, squash and netball tournaments.

TALENTED PLAYERS
The organizing committee will arrange for selectors from Basketball Bay of Plenty to be present daily to select a Tournament Team. These players will receive certificates indicating that they have been selected as the top 16 players from the tournament at the prize giving.

 

MEDAL PRESENTATON

The top 3 placed teams in each division will be presented with their medals and winners cup at the official

AIMS GAMES Closing Ceremony on Friday 10th September 1.00pm at the QEYC.

RISK MANAGEMENT
The organisers will manage risk during the event’s programmed activities. This does not include transport to and from the venues, leisure activities or accommodation arrangements. Clear instruction to coaches / team managers will be given about the extent of the organizers responsibilities at the Sunday night managers meeting.

ENTRY CONFIRMATION
A letter of entry confirmation will be forwarded to your school by Friday 4th June 2010.
