ELIGIBILTY
All schools that are financial members of NZAIMS are eligible to enter
gymnasts.
Year 7 and 8 Students-Please see below the events that will be held for the following Gymsports and the apparatus applicable for each division:

Mens's artistic (MAG), Woman's artistic (WAG), Rhythmic (RG) and Trampoline (TRA) divide the gymnasts into 4 levels of experince (divisions) as follows:
MAG, WAG &RG - Flyers division - Novice (Never competed in a GSNZ levels system/retired gymnast 2years+) and Level 1-2 competitive.
Twisters - Novice and Level 3 Competitive
Open Junior - Level 4-6 Competitive
Open Senior - Level 7+ Competitive
TRA- Flyers - Novice
Twisters - Novice and 9-10 year old competitive
Open Junior - Sub Junior Competitive trampoline
Open Senior - Junior + Competive trampoline

Session timetable will be produced and distributed as soon as possible after final entries have been received.
ROUTINE REQUIREMENTS
Compulsory routine requirements for Men’s artistic, Woman’s artistic, Rhythmic and Trampoline are available in the routine handbook, available for purchase from the GymSports website.
To be a “team” in the Teams event, there must be a minimum of 3 and maximum of 4 gymnasts per school competing in the same level. The top 3 scoring gymnasts from each team will go towards their final score/result.
Men’s artistic, Women’s artistic, Rhythmic and Trampoline each have four divisions – For detailed information on student eligibility for each division please refer to the AIMS Games page on the GymSports website www.gymsportsnz.com
Hip Hop Routine Requirements
-
Strictly only 1 team per school - min of 6 participants and max of 12 participants
-
May be all female, all male or mixed gender. May be a mixture of ages, but must be from the same school.
-
Attire should be reflective of Funk and Hip Hop style.
-
The competition performance area will be 6 x 6 m matted area.
-
Music must be two minutes long. It can be either instrumental or have words. Teams are required to supply their own music. It must be on CD and must be clearly labelled.

No routine requirements - anything goes for this routine, just have some fun!

Tips to help you achieve:
-
Formations – make sure your routine has a minimum of 5 formation changes
-
Style – make sure your routine is reflective of hip hop and funk. Not jazz or ballet.
-
Synchronisation – try to get an equal level of ability and execution between all team members.
-
All movements should be synchronized and solo performances should be avoided.
Aerobics Routine Requirements
-
Strictly only 1 team per school - min of 6 participants and max of 12 participants
-
May be all female, all male or mixed gender. May be a mixture of ages, but must be from the same school.

Attire to be school P.E. uniform. Shorts / T-shirt (Male). Cycle shorts/T-shirt (Female). PLEASE NO BAGGY SHORTS

The competition performance area will be 6 x 6 m matted area.

Music must be two minutes long. It can either be instrumental or have words. Teams are required to supply their own music. It must be on CD and must be clearly labelled.

Routine Requirements: 4 Jumping jacks
-
4 press ups (knees must stay on the ground)
-
4 high knee lifts
-
These compulsory elements may occur anywhere in the routine but each set of 4 must be consecutive.
Cheerleading Routine Requirements
-
Strictly only 1 team per school - min of 6 participants and max of 12 participants

May be all female, all male or mixed gender. May be a mixture of ages, but must be from the same school.

Attire should be reflective of the cheerleading style.

Performance Area: The competition performance area will be 6x6 m matted area.

The music must be two minutes long. It can be either instrumental or have words. Teams are required to supply their own music. It must be on CD and must be clearly labelled.

Routine requirements:
ALL Participants must show:-
1 partner balance
-
2 gymnastic skills
-
2 leaps or jumps
-
1 turn or spin
-
These compulsory elements may occur anywhere in the routine, but all participants must do them together.

AWARD PRESENTATIONS

| certificates will be awarded for 4th-6th place. | |
| Gymsports top school award: | A trophy will be awarded to the top school at the AIMS GAMES |
| closing ceremony on Friday 10th September 1.00pm at the QEYC | |
| who accumulate the most points over the competition. Points | |
| will be awarded as follows: | |
| 1st place = 6 points through to 6th place = 1 point. |
JUDGES
All Judges will be GSNZ accredited.

$35.00 per individual gymnast
$150.00 per group performance team

RISK MANAGEMENT
The organisers will manage risk during the
event’s programmed activities. This does not include transport to and from
the venues, leisure activities or accommodation arrangements. Clear instruction
to coaches / team managers will be given about the extent of the organizers
responsibilities at the Sunday night managers meeting.
ENTRY CONFIRMATION
A letter of entry confirmation will be forwarded to your
school by Friday 4th June 2010.
• If registration for an activity is over subscribed then the opportunity to participate will be at the discretion of the exective committee and no further correspondence will be entered onto (if unsuccessful team entry will be refunded). The four organizing schools have right of entry.
