A tournament committee will be in place to administer and facilitate the running of this tournament.

REFEREES
• Teams are to nominate one competent referee for their team.
• Teams are to provide one competent scorebench person for their game.

TALENTED PLAYERS
The organising committee will arrange for selectors from Basketball Bay of Plenty to be present daily to
select a Tournament Team. These players will receive certificates indicating that they have been
selected as the top 12 players from the tournament at the prize giving.

RULES
1) Size 6 ball (Boys Division) and Size 6 (Girls Division) to be used at all times.
2) Match ball will be provided.
3) Game time will be 4 x 10 minute quarters. 2 minute between quarters and 3 minute half time
(this is subject to change depending on number of entries).
4) Games will start to time.
5) 1 x 30 second time out per quarter – none in the last 3 minutes of the game.
6) Substitutions are to be notified to the bench and are allowed to take the court on any dead ball.
7) Points: 2 for a win and 1 for a loss (in the event of a tie at the end of the game, 2 minutes extra time will be played to find a winner).
8) Minimum of 7 players per team with a maximum of 12.
9) No mixed gender teams (Girls Division and Boys Division).
10) Man to man defence is to be played at all times (no zone defence).
11) Team management to fill in the scoresheets 10 minutes prior to the start of their game.
12) Scoresheets will be checked against team registration sheets to ensure that there are no players playing who were not included in the verified team registration.
13) Semi-finals / Finals – the clock will be stopped for all violations in the last 3 minutes of the game.
A time out can be called at anytime in the last quarter during semi-finals and finals only.


BOYS DRAW POOL PLAY CLARIFICATION
• The 5 team pools (A & B) play a full round robin within their pool i.e. 4 games
• The 4 team pools (C & D) play a full round robin within their pool (3 games) plus one game with
a team from the other pool i.e. 4 games (the crossover games carry full competition points)

MEDAL PRESENTATION
The top 3 placed teams in each division will be presented with their medals and winners cup at the
official AIMS GAMES Closing Ceremony on Friday 10th September 1.00pm at the QEYC.

RISK MANAGEMENT
The organisers will manage risk during the event’s programmed activities. This does not include
transport to and from the venues, leisure activities or accommodation arrangements. Clear instruction
to coaches / team managers will be given about the extent of the organisers responsibilities at the
Sunday night managers meeting and in the “Terms and Conditions of Entry”.
